When I saw that familiar roofline, and before I saw your caption, I immediately thought ‘Baur?’ Yep - Baur.

I always thought that their convertibles were a little odd but distinctive. The first E21 323i that I ever saw, back when I was just a teenager, was a Baur, and I’ve wanted one ever since. It was so unique compared to our family’s beige on beige 320i, with its wheezing 101hp of fury under the bonnet. A good car, but lacking the cool factor of a straight six and a folding roof.

My friend wanted to purchase Baur E21 many years ago . I think it was a 4-cylinder mo del but I cannot remember exactly . It was in quite rough condition but it could have been rescued . But my friend wanted something in running condition so he bought something else . I haven’t seen another of these in F inland since that.
